Today the prospects for possible cooperation with Japanese «Itochu corporation» have been discussed during the meeting in the Ministry of Economic Development and Foreign Affaires of Khabarovsk territory. Russian Party was headed by the Minister and Deputy Chairman of regional government — Victor Kalashnikov while japanese delegation was led by the Head of Moscow representative office and CEO of CIS countries — Mr. Kiyoshi Fujitsuka, as reported by RIAP «Khabarovsk online».
Japanese corporation showed a particular interest in gasification program for Khabarovsk territory and expressed a desire to participate in implementation. At the initial stage it might provide Russian Party with gas engines, turbine systems, boilers, electricity generation systems based on gasification of wood pulp and other equipment of various capacity. Instead of «purchase and sale» scheme Russian Party, in turn, prefers investment opportunities of foreign companies and firms willing to expand into the Far East market.
Parties exchanged the views and agreed upon further contacts.
«Itochu corporation» is a japanese general trading company (sogo shosha) headquartered in Tokyo, also one of so-called «Big 5» of japanese trading companies and «Fortune 500» company. Since 70s of the last century the corporation has been engaged in oil and gas projects including Azerbaijan’s ones as well as investments in «Sakhalin-1» project and construction of gas pipeline «Blue Stream».
Currently «Itochu corporation» has got global network of 625 subsidiaries and affiliates in 68 countries worldwide.
